Mr. Anscher joined Meridian in July 2017 and serves as the company’s Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, overseeing the legal, finance, information technology, human resources, data analytics, facilities and marketing functions of the firm.
Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Anscher has overseen the full-scale operations at three asset management firms. He served as Chief Operating Officer at Ramius, and as Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Equinox Partners. Across those firms, he drove successful operations transformation to state of the art systems, implemented key policies and procedures, set up new offices, built and strengthened infrastructure, technology capabilities and managed legal and finance functions. Prior to those roles, Mr. Anscher was a corporate attorney at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, LLP as well as a staff accountant at KPMG.
Mr. Anscher holds a B.S.M in accounting and finance from Tulane University and a J.D. from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law. He is both a member of the New York State Bar and a CPA.
Mr. Goodman joined Meridian in 2014 and serves as the President of Meridian Capital Group. In that capacity, he worked to devise and implement the creation of the Investment Sales Division, and now manages its day-to-day operations, including recruiting, strategic planning, market positioning, geographical and product expansion, and cross-selling between Meridian’s debt and sales platforms. Working closely with Mr. Herzka and Mr. Lobell, Mr. Goodman also focuses on developing other business lines and strategic activities for the firm.
From 2010 through 2014, Mr. Goodman was a senior member of the Real Estate Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on advising and financing many of the group’s key clients. During his tenure at Goldman, Mr. Goodman managed more than $5 billion of CMBS and balance sheet lending activity and strategically advised and financed clients including REITs, investment managers, private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds and private investors. Mr. Goodman also served in various leadership roles within his group at Goldman, including helping to manage the group’s business selection, recruitment and staffing processes. From 2008 through 2010, Mr. Goodman worked in the Real Estate Capital Markets Group at the Reznick Group. From 2004 through 2008, Mr. Goodman worked in the Real Estate Finance Group at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he worked in both origination and disposition capacities.
Mr. Levine joined Meridian in 2004 and currently serves as a Senior Managing Director, overseeing a staff of originators and underwriters in the negotiation and placement of financing for construction, repositioning and transitional asset transactions.
Prior to joining Meridian, Mr. Levine was a Senior Vice President at Westminster Capital, a division of Kushner Companies. His job responsibilities at Westminster included coordinating all aspects of financing for Kushner Companies, including debt and equity financing. Mr. Levine also previously worked as a financial analyst in the real estate investment banking group of CIBC World Markets.
Mr. Levine holds an M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University and a B.A. in Finance from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business.
Mr. Schubert joined Meridian in 1996 and is a Senior Managing Director in charge of managing Meridian’s Iselin, NJ and Boca Raton, FL offices. He previously managed the company’s office in Englewood Cliffs. Under Mr. Schubert’s direction, Meridian’s New Jersey office focuses primarily on serving borrowers in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland markets.
As a long-standing and accomplished commercial real estate finance advisor, Mr. Schubert has consistently contributed to the financial accomplishments of the company and has personally negotiated more than $14 billion in financing over the course of his career. He has significant experience working with borrowers and lenders structuring deals throughout the capital stack and is well-versed in all of the major property types.
Sandy Jacolow joined Meridian Capital in 2018 as Chief Information Officer, a role in which he oversees the technology initiatives that support the company's brokerage, investment sales and retail leasing activities. As an industry leader, Mr. Jacolow currently serves as a founding member of the REBNY Technology Committee, chairs the REBNY Cyber Security sub-committee, is a member of the Realcomm’s Commercial & Corporate Real Estate Cyber Consortium (CCRECC) and a member of the Realcomm Advisory Council.
Prior, Sandy Jacolow joined Silverstein Properties in 2011 as Chief Information Officer, a role in which he oversaw all technology initiatives supporting the company's management, operations, residential, leasing, financial, development, and co-working activities, which included the World Trade Center and Silver Suites.
Prior to joining Silverstein he served as Executive Director and Head of US Operations responsible for managing existing relationships, driving new business and providing the strategic direction for the North American arm of Calvis, Inc. a global real estate focused consulting firm. More recently, Mr. Jacolow headed the Real Estate Technology Services for Inetium, a Microsoft Gold partner, where he leveraged his experience in the institutional advisory, and brokerage markets to provide strategic IT consultancy around business and operational improvement.
Prior to Calvis Mr. Jacolow served as Chief Technology Officer at Newmark Knight Frank (formerly Newmark & Company Real Estate) one of the world's largest real estate brokerage firms. He reinvented Newmark's technology landscape deploying an enterprise-wide Storage Area Network traversing a national MPLS backbone and introduced Microsoft's SharePoint to address their data access and collaboration needs.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Jacolow served as senior director and chief technology officer at ING Clarion Partners, a member of ING Real Estate. During his 15-year tenure with Clarion, Mr. Jacolow was responsible for the firm's strategic technology direction. Additionally, for more than 10 years he concurrently managed the firm's Financial Control and Portfolio Accounting department.
Mr. Jacolow has been active in the real estate industry for nearly 35 years with a focus on the institutional advisory, property management and brokerage markets. He also possesses a unique and complementary blend of financial, accounting and technology experience. During a career which has spanned four decades, Mr. Jacolow has been an active member of the real estate community. In addition to his current affiliations, he also served as chairperson of the Information Management Committee of the National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCRIEF), been a voting member of the Real Estate Industry Standards (REIS) Council, a member of the Senior IT Advisory Council of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM), founding member on the Board of Directors for OSCRE (Open Standards Consortium For Real Estate), and Salesforce Northeast Executive Council.
Mr. Jacobowitz joined the Meridian in August 1999 and currently manages the firm's finance and accounting team. Prior to joining Meridian, he worked in the audit and tax departments at the Public Accounting firm of MR & Co., a member of the BDO Seidman Alliance.
Yossi was admitted as a Certified Public Accountant in October 1999 and graduated summa cum laude from Touro College with a B.S. in Accounting in 1992.
Mr. Simonovits joined Meridian in February 2004 and is currently a Managing Director responsible for the firm's national data, research and information management functions. Mr. Simonovits oversees Meridian's research department, and is actively engaged with Meridian's business systems and technology teams, providing real-time financial and market data to senior management and the firm's mortgage advisors. Prior to his current role in Meridian's Manhattan headquarters, which began in January 2009, Mr. Simonovits managed sales and marketing in Meridian's New Jersey office.
Before joining Meridian, Mr. Simonovits was a Senior Project Manager and Business Analyst for the Clinical Trials Management division of Schering Plough. He has also worked as a part of the information technology team at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Mr. Stern is currently a Managing Director at Meridian Capital Group, responsible for the firm’s marketing and communications platforms. As a member of the management team, he also works closely with other senior executives at the firm to plan and execute business development and strategic initiatives. He originally joined Meridian as a Director in February 2010.
Mr. Stern joined Meridian from J.E. Robert Companies / JER Partners, where he was a member of the Capital Markets, Client Relations and Communications team. Prior to JER, Mr. Stern managed successful marketing campaigns for several real estate developments in New York. He has also held roles at Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Bank, covering the Technology, Media and Telecommunications sectors, as well as at The Citigroup Private Bank, where he worked in Global Marketing.
Mr. Stern holds an A.B. in Economics from Vassar College and is the Vice President and a member of the Board of Governors of the Mortgage Bankers Association of New York, Inc., a member of the ICSC New York Next Generation Committee, a member of the Urban Land Insitute New York's Program Steering Committee and is involved with the Anti-Defamation League's NextGen Real Estate committee.
